MPMC Marine's MARAD services comes with a comprehensive SOMS Transit Plan (STP).

The Straits of Malacca and Singapore (SOMS) Transit Plan is an important piece of information for the safe transit of heavily laden deep draft vessels e.g VLCC or Capesize Bulk Carrier.

STP is prepared by our experienced Marine Advisor (MA), paying due regards to all applicable safety related information with the highest due diligence.

Due to the existence shallow spots along the routes in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore, deep draft vessels continues expose to risk of grounding if it failed to transit shallow spots at the right time of the day with sufficient height of tide (HOT) to achieve a minimum UKC of 3.50 metres as required by the rules.

The STP is part of the Risk Assessment and Due Diligence needs from our group of clients which will be prepared and verified even before the deep draft vessel execute its loading plan.

STP allows a deep draft vessel to be loaded to maximum allowable capacity without compromising navigational safety and environmental risk.

STP gives confidence to the Master and the Bridge Team for a safe and experiencing transit in the Straits of Malacca & Singapore.
